From the very beginning of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with rich lore, a diverse cast of personalities, and a thrilling plot featuring divine entities, demons, and dark forces increasing in strength within the city.
Note: Revealing details for the latest installment of Campaign 4 follow below.
The Soldiers Table Revealed
The latest chapter finished on a huge suspense moment and introduced the premier party of adventurers who will split off from the central cast to undertake their independent quest, separate from the additional parties.
This warrior group includes the determined fighter (brought to life by Travis), the nimble rogue (Laura), Tyranny (the cast member), the cleric (the player), and Kattigan (Robbie).
Why Split the Party?
Given 13 cast members, it was evident from the beginning that keeping everyone at one table would be unworkable.
That’s why, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, weaving together the personal journeys before dividing into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Schemers, and Questers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
As described by Brennan Lee Mulligan, the combat-focused party is for players who are drawn to a typically action-packed battle-oriented narrative style where non-violent answers are rare.
At first glance, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might look unsuited, but the developments of the latest installment show why these particular heroes are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the group has a clear idea where to proceed after a violent opening clash with the antagonists.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose death kicked off the campaign’s events—exploited the foes for his personal gain, entering the secret base, assaulting the character, and swiping all the magical artifacts to auction.
Casimir then paid off his liabilities and fled to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, above the urban center, with Cyd close behind.
Character Drivers
Secondly, each adventurer has a specific drive to exit Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as the companion and trusted friend, desires retribution.
- Kattigan has experience in the region and advises that it is a hostile environment.
- The warrior and The cleric, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to eliminate Teor and instead freed him, have no safe haven.
- Yet, their reputation as prominent individuals in the powerful family could assist the team enter locations they normally couldn’t.
- Additionally, Teor swore a life debt to The savior for his salvation and will now accompany him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the powers that govern the setting for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally dangerous:
- The rogue and The character are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and The cleric betrayed the influential house and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by the family.
This means them few options but to journey toward Timmony in search of the antagonist.
Upcoming Developments
From the recent installment’s Cooldown, we learn that the Soldiers table will be absent in the upcoming installment, leaving the rest of the cast members to assemble the Questers and Planners parties.
